How long is it taking the bureau to clear those things?  If I understand this correctly, they charge your card once they open it and have 60 days from then to get my permit to me?  Thanks guys!

It's faster than 60 days, things have calmed down quite a bit since the Obama-hysteria.  45-50 days is pretty typical these days.

I got my renewal in less than two weeks.  Just came on Friday.

Hmmm, they charged me Feb 28th so it's just been a month and I'm out of state so hopefully it won't be too much longer!

I think renewals take priority over first timers.

BCI charged my card on Feb 11th. CFP arrived on Mar 25th. Your results may vary.........

One more thing is that each batch is done alphabetically.  Turned in on the same day, Mr. Adams will get it sooner than Mister Zed.

You might want to call them. My renewal was taking longer than my initial permit and I was a concerned there might be a problem. There was; it turns out they approved me and mailed my permit in less than a week but it was returned as undeliverable. They re-sent it with no problem.
My intial permit only took a couple of weeks and it was for a non-resident permit. The lady I spoke with was super nice and checked my status while I was on the phone.
Phone number is (801)965-4445. Hope this helps.

Sure enough, showed up today!  I like the letter they send about this issued provided your fingerprints don't have issues.  So you issued it without hearing from the FBI?

Utah law says that the BCI must process within 60 days.  The FBI doesn't return results that quickly, so BCI issues anyway, then waits for the results.

I see so the FBI may still want me.  I'll resume cover
