Lots of Utah folks that have taken classes. Here is the course offerings: FBMG Continuing Education |

I've taken precision rifle and tactical carbine, both taught by John Wester. They were excellent classes for me because I had never been taught the course content that he presented. Both classes started with a Friday night lecture and finished with range time on Saturday. John is energetic and personable. He served time as a sniper in Afghanistan. He is a gifted teacher and a keen judge of what each particular student needs in order to learn.
The precision rifle class taught me how to use mil dots to determine the distance of an object of known size. He also taught us how to determine wind speed and direction as input to adjusting windage. I had never fired at targets more than 100 yards away and now I enjoy going to the 300-yard range at Logan and practicing what I learned. The tactical carbine class taught how to safely move together as a group while firing on targets. We also learned how to alert the group when we needed to reload. And we had drills to learn how to transition from carbine to pistol and back. By the end of the range session we were running while firing at targets from the left shoulder using left eye and left hand. Each skill set that he taught involved competition to allow the best shooter for that particular skill to emerge and be rewarded with a prize. These two classes were a good use of my time and money. They broke of bad habits and taught me techniques that I had never known. |

I will plan on doing one when things warm up. |
