How is it?

Looking to pack up and move west.

Anyone know of any good job boards, well, besides, Monster, Dice, Careerbuilder and Hotjobs?

Maybe some local boards.

Lived in NY all my life, won't mind giving it up to fine a better place to raise my family.

Visited Utah a few times, kinda like it.

Even had dinner with Shane333.

Thanks

Jobs.utah.gov is a pretty good site.

You could maybe try craigslist as well.

I don't know about IT, but programmers can do very well here.  My brother makes bank as a programmer.  He got his degree in economics.

Not sure you we want more Shane types around here

There are plenty of jobs in the IT field, if nothing else try the hospitals and schools (colleges) job listings.

Two companies that I know of are L3 and Unisys, it's worth giving them a shot. I work for Unisys, but I am just a tech support agent on the phones, not sure if you were looking for something bigger and better like a programmer, although I'm sure Unisys has those positions as well. L3 is a great company, I would definitely check them out.

I will look into it just in case.

Looks like round two completed well, they will decide on round three, where they fly me out.  Cool a trip to SLC on someone else's dime.

What kind of IT work do you specialize in?  I work as a network engineer about four hours north of SLC.

Thank you for the kind thought.  I nailed the interview and got an offer.  It's no NY salary but I believe it's a fair offer.  Plus, it's got some awesome benefits that no other employer can offer.

I just need to find a place to live now and sell the house here in NY.

Only thing that's keeping me in NY is my folks and a possible offer in NY with an offer I can't refuse.

I sent you an IM and e-mail with more info just if you want to look at it.

Got it.

Looks like even with a job offer in SLC, I can't take it because I can't float my home mortgage in NY on a SLC salary until my house sold.  Housing around here has taken almost a year to sell, I can't pay the mortgage and rent out in SLC.  I'm bummed.

I got an offer and everything until we did the numbers on how long we can pay our mortgage in NY, it was only a few months.  What worst, if I defaulted here, I couldn't buy in Utah for over 7 years as no one would lend to someone who's got a default.

That sucks dude.  Good luck selling your house.  I'd get out of liberal NY as soon as I could if I were you.
