My wife is a travel nurse and I am a LEO going back to school full-time online for something different.  We'll be in SLC from November through February.  She is an ER nurse and will be working at the big Intermountain hospital on State Rd.

We were there for about a month from June-July 08 and got to know the area a bit, but didn't get any shooting or socializing in.  Only popped in 'Get Some' one time and my wallet started freaking out and I had to get out of there.

We'll probably be staying back in the W. Jordan area (S 9000/Redwood).  We'd like to hook up with some folks for shooting, skiing, and hunting.

We've met with ARF.com folks in different states as we've been traveling and it's always been a hoot.  We're in Sitka, Alaska now and found a ARF.commer who lives up here in the Coast Guard.  My wife is starting to learn that gun folks are the best kind of people and is excited to get to know some more.

Don't hesitate to email:  [email protected]

Take care.

Yeah, I'll still be in Alaska until the beginning of November.

Where are the outdoor ranges around the valley?

Feel free to shoot me an email.  I'm at the University of Utah hospital for work and the University of Utah for school so I don't get out much.  We do have a good AK build group which has branched into other firearms and between the 50 + members you are sure to find some one to hang out with at least a little bit.  There are several ranges which are much more affordable than Get Some in the valley with Lee Kay costing $4 and Parley's Canyon costing $5.  If you prefer indoor ranges there are plenty of those, but we poor students can't afford them.  With gas prices where they are it is almost more affordable to go to Lee Kay or Parley's since you can't shoot in Salt Lake County apart from designated ranges.  But if you want, there are plenty of places to shoot outside the county and even some great rabbit and coyote hunting oppurtunities (which don't require a hunting license).  Contact me if you have more questions.
