Guys. I just went up to FBMG in Draper, UT today. That place is AWSOME. They have pretty much every gun you would want in the show floor. They even told me if you want an AR or AK a certian way and you dont see it they will build it for you. They are setting up a full service gunsmith shop that will start offering services next week. They even said they are putting in an on site range. You guys have to check this place out.

I can't find them in the phone book.  Do you have a number or address?  I would like to check them out.

Isn't it forbiden to talk about FBMG here? It seems that FBMG threads disappear.

What are the rules regarding posting about local shops in this forum? Do they have to be a dealer for us to post in here?

I just moved here from Georgia.  If you go to the Georgia Hometown Forum you will find that about every fourth post is about a local dealer.  How is supporting your local shop a bad thing?

I think it's ok because it isn't FBMG talking about themselves.

It's not as long as people from other companies dont whine about because the new company is winning customer business from them for various reasons.

I think your real point is you dont want the paid advertisers complaining that someone, not connected with a store, is talking about a shop other than theirs.Who gives a crap if they are whining. The average person should still have the right to post about a good shop they found without someone whining like little girls.

That's the point right there.  Staff has made it clear recently to the HTF moderators that any non-paying advertising from someone affiliated with said business is not allowed, under any circumstances.

In the past, I've let announcements from the local stores go (new store opening, classes being offered, etc) because I thought they benefited the local community.  Such things are no longer allowed if posted by anyone affiliated with that business.

So, a few points of clarification:

1) If you work for a company (to include the shell profiles that post for some of the stores....), own a company, or are in anyway paid or receive goods for services you can not post about said business. Correct?

2) Did the staff post this somewhere for everyone to see, or has this just been recently discussed and decided upon?

3) If a company becomes a paid advertiser they can post just about whatever they want about their store. Correct?

4) Fan boys, minions, and regular customers can post about said business without fear of retribution. Correct?

Thanks.

Let's see if I can address those four concerns:

1.  If you are affiliated with said business, you can not promote, in any way, that business.  If an individual here has a "shell profile" that is being used to advertise, provide some evidence and it will be dealt with by Staff.  The individual to whom you are referring to has been looked into and Staff can not confirm an affiliation.

2.

Code of Conduct

Specific To Sales
1.) Companies or individuals cannot advertise or sell products and or services in the forums (including siglines and titles) without prior approval from the site owners. (Industry Partners are allowed to post sales or specials on a limited basis.)

2.) Individuals interested in selling or trading equipment should resort to the Equipment Exchange. At no time should an item be listed in any discussion forum. (This includes links to auctions.)

3.) Fraudulent practices or attempts to defraud another person or group will be dealt with very seriously.

3.  See #2.

4.  Patrons of a store are welcome to post about their dealings with the store.  I recall posting when Get Some opened their new store, as I had just stopped in and was impressed with the store.

The only exception to any of this is the Professional Exchange Program..  Details can be found at that link.

The rules are the rules.  This is a private forum and as such use of the forum requires you (and me) to abide by those rules.  I've let things slide in the past that I shouldn't have and Staff has addressed those issues with me.

If anyone has an issue with this you are welcome to IM me or get in touch with a member of Staff for further clarification.

I believe that Medicmandan has a job to do, but I love hearing about local shops, and I think that FBMG has a lot to offer us here in the valley.
And their spring shoots are my Christmas.

And I love Getsome, there is a guy here that started working for them on the side, an older fellow prob late 40’s, or early 50’s and he is my favorite guy at the store.
I always deal with him when I’m getting some range time.
Getsome needs cheaper MG rentals, I just perfer to wait for the FBMG shoots.

And why does nobody in town have an upper with M4 feed ramps?

FBMG is almost like buying from family.

I think Get some had an LMT MRP in stock for awhile; that has M4 ramps. I keep trying to find one of those fancy new lowers like POF, mega, Sundevil, and nobody has those. I really want one that is select fire marked. If anybody sees one I would appreciate letting me know because I am too lazy to go through the whole ordering, sending FFL, blah blah process.

Yea I also like both shops, however I was in get some the other day and the older guy (that always wears jump suits) kind bugged me.  I had asked if they were getting any Savage 10FCP in either the McMillan or the HS Precision.  And I was told that they carry mostly tactical rifles.  I was umm that is the tactical model.  He than wanted to argue a bit and I just said thanks and left.

So does anyone in Northern Utah stock Mega lowers?
