I know the Utah Prairie Dog is protected so don't shoot them. The White Tailed Prairie Dog might be legal to hunt, but they only live in eastern Utah. I think they did a study on them a while ago to try to get them an one of the lists, but I do not know the outcome of the study. I don't have a clue about the status of the Gunnison prairie dog but I am pretty sure they only live in the four corners area. I am pretty sure those are the only prairie dogs that live in Utah, but some one correct me if I am wrong. As far as shooting in Utah county, there are thousands of acres of BLM land to shoot on except at 5 mile pass. The west side of Utah lake is an open shooting range. A short drive is all it takes if you already live here. HTH |
There must have been a few people with him. If he was hunting for twelve hours, thats almost 1 rabbit every ten minutes. Rabbits that close together usualy pop up in pairs or threes and your not gonna hit 'em all with a bolt gun unless they were all just standing there waiting to be shot (which I doubt). |
