I just wanted to warn people around the Murry area about firestone, east of fashion place mall. I took my wife’s car in to get inspected because my father in law had a $15 off coupon they charged $59 -$15 for the inspection and then when it was all done they failed her because they said she had both rear springs broken. And that seemed really odd to me especially since the car rode fine and we had ford go over it 3 months ago, they gave me some BS about it being a common problem with those cars. While the manager whom I was talking to was spitting out a bunch of bull crap and my BS alarm going off like crazy in my head he tells me its $650 to repair and he can't let the car go until it’s taken care of. After explaining to him that I'm going to fix it he finally let the car go with a worried look on his face. Well it was the day before Christmas when I took the car into him so it took me a few days before I could get under the car to have a look and when I did I found nothing was wrong with the springs, at all. So I took the car down to the shop I trust and they passed the car with flying colors. Yesterday I was in the area and was in the mood to make a stink in the shop with a bunch of customers. Talked to the Manager Chris (about 350 – 400lb guy) about it and I managed to get a few customers to go somewhere else. And he got a worried look on his face looking at the line of people and had me go into the other room where he pretty much laughed at me and gave me the old, what are you going to do about it, crap. I’m not sure who I need to call to keep them from screwing anymore people, I was just lucky I knew better and was not about to fall for it. Poor girl inline before me when I was trying to decide if I should make a stink forked out $1100 for god knows what, looking very worried. As soon as the fat ass manager that tried to BS me showed up I decided I would make a seen. I watched at least 3 people get out of line and leave (that made me feel better) but I really would like to get these guys on a watch list or something. Man I hate Liars. |

The department of public safety web page has the phone number you need to call: Vehicle Safety Inspection Here is the paragraph from the above page: "Safety Inspection is required by Utah law to investigate all complaints regarding state inspections. If you have questions regarding an inspection please contact the Safety Inspection office at (801) 965-4889, option 1. Action will be taken against any station that attempts to pass vehicles in violation of Safety Inspection rules. Safety Inspection also investigates complaints regarding unnecessary repairs." Did the Firestone shop give you a rejection slip, they have to turn them into the state if you don't come back. Gary |

usually I just laugh this kind of stuff off but after watching my wife I realized how easy it is for someone to be taken in by this crap. I feel good in the fact that I turned away some people that seemed very intrested in what I had to say to them while I was waiting in line, I hope they pass the word too. the main thing is I just don't want to hurt the guy that passed her car eather, (one of the rear stuts work but there is a little oil leakage that he just pointed out to me) I don't know if he did my a favor or not and I don't want it to bite him eather. (grandfathers old hunting buddy, but he has noidea I'm his grandson) prob a good chance my grandfather helped him get his shop too, knowing him. |

yeah I got a rejection slip, well more of a piece of paper with the words "FAIL" and a paper slip saying "both rear springs broken" I had a good feeling he was full of it but I went ahead and jacked the car up and took the rear wheels off to be sure, springs look almost perfect, hardly any rust too. |
That I might just do. ![]() If these guys are smart they will try and fly straight for a few weeks... but you know these kinds of people... usually dumb as shit and assume everyone else is too. |
