Those of you that reload, how easy is it to find components?  Are you finding any powders anywhere on the shelves?  I've been watching my local Bi-Mart, because its the only place within a 50 mile radius of me that sells supplies, with no luck so far. Occasionally they will have some primers and a poor selection of bullets.

I have across people locally who say they have no problem getting components at places like Sportsman's Warehouse and the likes but when I make a trip into town to these places, the shelves are bare.  I haven't ran across much on the internet for powder and don't like shipping powder if I can avoid it do to the haz mat shipping fees.

Anybody else having better luck than me?

Powder is hit and miss.

Here in Madras Bi-mart gets some in but it goes quickly, it can be bought for more at a local pawn shop(who buys it at Bi-mart) but still cheaper than paying hazmat.

Best bet if you don't have time to scour the stores is finding some others wanting powder and go in on a larger order to spread the hazmat fees around.

What components specifically are you looking for. I have found what I need but your rounds may be way different.

What part of the state

Our local Sportsman's Warehouse no longer displays the powders on the shelves used in the past.  Its displayed in the shotgun rack behind the gun counter as well as the small arms primers.  Might want to check there or ask.

Hit and miss in the Rogue Valley.

Picked up some CFE 223 at Big R last week ( shipments on Thirsdays).

Sportsman’s has a spattering left every Thursday morning after all the employees have their way with the shipment
(I know a guy who works there). They get their shipments for reloading stuff on Wednesdays

There is a newish shop named Guns R Us and they have the best powder stash I have seen in a while, lots of primers, very little projo’s

Been getting all my projo’s online

Sportsmans in Portland is hit or miss, same goes for Fishermans. Curts discount shooters supply in Milwaukee has components and powder. Powder is at $28 dollars a pound so I passed it up, he has 8 pound jugs as well.

Curts gives a MIL/LE discount I believe. I know I get a LE discount and I think it applies to MIL as well. I have been able to find all my reloading supplies there recently and it beats the hell outta HAZMAT.

I picked up a can of H335 Tuesday at a bimart in Springfield.  It was the only one that they had.    They had a couple of cans of another powder for magnum loads, can't recall the number.

It a hit and miss kind of thing. You have to know when they get there shipments. Most by-marts tue. And sportmans wharehouse thur. Go about noon if you can. If you dont see it out ask. I like the idea of local group byes to spred out the Hazmat charge

Group buys are good if everything is normally in stock.  It's really tricky when it only stays in stock for 4 hours at a time.  Even trying to do orders on stuff with my roomies,  where I have an exact list of what they want...  Odds are that only half of it came in on that shipment.

My last powder purchase was almost $1000 worth between the three of us.  We've only completely ran out of three powders though,  so at least there is that.

Hit or miss in Salem.

I talk to the person at Bi Mart gun counter and get there right after they get stuff on the shelves.

But I'm still using components from before the crazy stupid times and I can use that stuff for years to come.

Group buys are where its at for powder and such.  Bullets, thats a bit trickier.  The bimart here in Forest Grove usually has had an OK selection on the bullets.  Powders have been hitting the shelf a lot more often as well.  It also pays to be on the friendly with the Sporting goods staff at the bimart.  Sometimes stuff is kept in the back and what not.  But really I am to the point where I am going to whittle down the powders I use and just buy them 8lbs at a time or something.  And also buy primers in 5k lots or more.  This way the Hazmat charges are spread out and your cost per round goes way down.  If you know a few people that are into it and have someone who can watch things like a hawk and is ready to press the go button at a moments notice on a big order than thats how I would roll.
