| I have a friend who has purchased a shotgun for home defense purposes and would like to take it to a range to shoot it. Is there a place that she can shoot it at a stationary target, just to get the feel for the gun? We aren't wanting to do any trap or skeet with it, I think she just wants to shoot it to make sure she knows what to expect should the need ever arise. I only use my TCGC membership for the GP range and occasionally the pistol range. I figure she could shoot it at the GP range with slugs, but I've not ever seen anyone shooting shotguns there, so I thought I'd ask to see if any of you knew. |

Slugs are fine at the General Purpose 100yd range. If you want to shoot birdshot to see how it patterns there should be place to do that over by the Skeet range. If you know a member that is Action Range certified you can shoot shotgun down in the pits which would give you more of a tactical/self defense feel.
