Heading to Ft. Stevens this week. What should I know about bringing a handgun?

Is Ft. Stevens a State Park or a National Monument?

State park. I will be camping there but sight seeing and fishing along the coast around the area.

I went camping there the other weekend. You can bring your handgun. (I'm assuming you have a CHL) If you look at all the Oregon Parks and Recreation "rules" billboards you will notice that they put update stickers over their firearms policies once they were told that they couldn't ban guns. They now say that you can't discharge your weapon or hurt animals with them.

By the way, bring mosquito spray. Those bugs are thick there.

Very much the attitude I've always taken. Having grown up in Az. that's how I roll. The last twelve years in Wa. Have been very different though.
