I've got a G2 LED Surefie light and are wanting to mount it to my S&W 15/22 for Rabbit killing action on the east side this spring.
Has anyone used a standard 1" scope ring to mount one up? I'm being told that's a common route with this light. If you have what ring did you use? I'd obviously like to use a tactical looking one. |

If you check around a few companies are making offset mounts, which work better for flashlights....Like This DD one |
| I would be very leary dealing with Botach. They have burned so many people, that if you look up the term "Botached" in the new lexicon type (slang) dictionary, it is a term meaning you ordered something that was never in stock, was never shipped, your order got screwed up, or otherwise got hosed trying to buy an item that the seller usually didn't even have in stock. |

I ordered a Timney trigger for my Rem 700 from Botach about a month ago and it arrived on my doorstep like 2 days later... It was $25 cheaper than anywhere else also. I have heard they can be hit or miss, but they nailed it for me. Ya, this has been my experience too.....tho that doesnt mean we just didn't get lucky....or they are improving their practices. They are the sort of company I order from when I dont really care when I get the product....just in case they dont deliver any time soon |
| With Botach you just have to make sure they have the item in stock before you order it. You can talk to someone live on-line through their website. I've tried to order from them twice before and both times they didn't have the item in stock. Saved me alot of hassle. If it's in stock you're probably GTG. |

The KZ ones from Botatch are decent, but I have gone to the viking Tactical ones which are very nice and lightweight. They come with an insert that will allow you to use small lights as well. I can't imagine one coming loose either.

I used a cheap old set of rings I had laying around. I think they were really, REALLY old Weaver rings. I had to file them out a touch to get the light's tube to fit, but they work great. Diameter of the tube is 1.08 inches, so the one inch rings needed just a little opening up. Use whatever is cheap and works. Or, I suppose, if you prefer, order a set of Badger tactical rings for $250 or so. Then you can look tacticool.
ETA: The mount from Viking looks pretty sleek as it doesn't stick way out to the side like many others do. |
