| Sad to see the old thread get archived so here we go again for 2010! We took on a couple month project from Nov-Feb, so we're getting back on track for the spring to tackle public land cleanups once a month! |

What should we bring for the clean up? Garbage bags, trailer, mop and bucket? Great question! First and foremost, yourself! Dress appropriately (supportive shoes & pants) Bring gloves, leather recommended If you have a truck, that would be greatly helpful - trailer also. We have 1 truck that comes with us, and generally arrange use of a dumpster near the location but that has not been arranged for these events to date. Yet. We provide garbage bags, water & if expected to be full day event - food. |

How is the garbage disposed of? Are the volunteers footing the bill for dumping the trash? I don't mind spending a few bucks to keep a shooting pit clean since I do use them, but an old freezer would be heavy on the scales $$$ We haven't had to pay a dump fee yet. The us forest service has covered it before, the DNR provided a dumpster before and we have a buisness in pdx that let's us use their dumpster if all else fails. |

Btt for a good cause! Thanks Cape, Everything is set to go for next Saturday in Deschutes NF. The US Forest service is providing usage of there account at the local dump. We'll be meeting at the Lost Track Golf Club at 9:30am. Feel free to call me with any questions if anyone is interested in joining us. 503-484-6292 It looked like that shooting pit that was originally shown above had been closed to shooting and bulldozed clean, It looked similar shape, size and layout as well as the GPS coordinates according to my hand-held were the same. So we drove through the forest and found a couple other smaller shooting spots that were trashed.
We found out the pit is NOT closed, we had located an area that looked similar and nearby the pit. The Pit is still open and dirty. Don't know how we missed it, but now we know for next time. |
| you guys are kickin ass. last time i went shootn south of brownsville i found about three truck loads worth of shit left in the woods. i was so pissed. it was a spot ive been going to for years and i had never seen it that bad,so next time i go out im gonna take a trailer and load er up. i can take it to the dump and use it as a tax write off next year. |
