Where's a good place to buy a gun safe? I'm looking at the 14 rifle capacity range, less than $600.

I might go check out Liberty Safes in Hillsboro today.

National Safe of Hubbard, Oregon.

503-780-0870 ask for Jerry. One of the best in the business hands down. A supplier of Liberty safes.

I believe the one in my house is a 30+ rifle safe, but he has many models to choose from.

I have a 14-gun Sentry Safe, and just FYI they always exaggerate the numbers they can hold. Since many rifles have optics, etc. on them, my '14 gun' safe could hold exactly 10 long guns, if I had that many in the first place. So if you really plan on aquiring 14 long guns someday I would step up to the 22-gun size. The cheverolet-esque most bang for the buck safe brands are Sentry Safe and Stack-On, solid units and the only detractor is that they are ugly matte green or black and look like a tack cabinet that belongs in a barn. If I had the money I would have gotten a Liberty, National Security, Fort Knox, Browning, or Remington, which actually have a surface finish and look like they belong indoors.

I picked up the Browning Yukon Gold safe at sportsman's wearhouse.

IIRC it was around $650-750

It works pretty well.

On the right I have about 10 long guns and could probably squeeze in more.  The left can be configured just like the right for more long guns.  I modified mine a bit to fit the UZI.  I like it!

It works pretty good.  I figure that if I get too many long guns I can always take out another shelf further down on the left side, extend the stock on the UZI, and move my under-folding Ak and side folder over to the left (with stocks folded that is).  Or any new weapons of similar size.

The shelf with the UZI holds around 20 AR mags and 30 UZI mags.  The one below has misc. holsters and stuff that like that.  The bottom is just empty gun cases.

It is a nice safe for the money!

Go to the Security Store in Hillsboro on TV Hwy (next to Banner Furniture just west of Brookwood).  Last time I was in there he had several safes for sale that they had used to store their firearms while they built out their new gun room.  All used but in good shape.  Not sure how many they still have as that was a month or so ago but he had 8 or 10.

I have three Foster Creek safes.   Doug is local and a heck of a good guy.  He builds them how ever you want them.

soprtsmans wearhouse or G.I. joes now days you can find a good 30 gun safe in the 600 range. buy more safe than you think you will ever need because other things will find their way into it documents/files. if you have a 14 gun safe that will actually fit 10 and add in a back up hard drive, passport, dipolmas, titles etc you run out of room fast.

Agreed buy bigger than you think you'll need

Just keep in mind the burn rate for the cheaper safes is way less than a more expensive one. Not that this matters to the OP, but something to think about if you value your rifles and documents.

Jerry is a standup guy with good inventory and good knowledge!!

HOWEVER, I ran across a hell of a deal on a Liberty at Coastal Farm Supply in Oregon City.  Worth a drive by.  I figured I save $900!!!

Is there a web site?  I tried googling Foster Creek safes and didn't find anything.

I checked out the same store you are speaking of but they do not carry the same line as Jerry does, that's why you saved $900. The models Coastal Farm and Supply carry are like the one's Jerry sales, but are a different manufacturer.
