EDIT:  I just found the class 3 sections I'm searching there now.

I work with a guy whose father has automatic weapons and has the proper paper work to own them.  My co worker was informed that his father would like to leave them to him in his will.  Where does my coworker need to start?

I believe that there is a provision with the BATF that allows an individual to pass along NFA items to the children or spouse when they die. This is without the cost of the $200 per item and assuming the individual can own these types of firearms......

I'm pretty sure on this, but don't take my word for it. Check the BATFs web site out.

True.  It should be in the FAQ on the site.

NFA guns are allowed to be willed tax-free.  Check out ATF form 5, "Tax exempt transfer of a firearm".
