Dish Network insaller just left. |
Yeah, there just isn't very much HD content right now to say that. But, upgrading the reciever and using an HDMI cable has made the standard channels better also. If I sit on the couch which is about 10' away everything looks decent. I mainly wanted it for CSI, House, NCIS, and sports. |

Dish's HD package isn't too bad. A 24 hour Kung Fu channel and a 24 hour Monster channel, all in HD :) Having the networks is important, then you can watch football in HD. Now you just need a personal theater, 8 foot wide screen, HD Projector, 5.1 Digital Surround, and an XBox 360 for when nothing is on. That is what I got, also have 2 rows of 3 theater recliners, a full length couch in the back row, with recliners on the ends. Edit: Oh yeah, make sure you get Dish's HD DVR. The new one they make is by far the best HD DVR on the market. I love it. |
There's a good idea, and don't miss the show on Global Warming, think it plays on OPB on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Bunch of freakin tards. |

LOL....I just got back from wallyworld about hr ago. I picked up a Phillips HDTV antenna/panel thing so I could watch the Super Bowl in HD. We got our plasma a few months back, and after watching my buddies with HD, holy hell. I'd upgrade my current Dish to the HD, but were moving soon, so I'm gonna wait until we're in the new place. I just got done plugging this antenna thing in though, wow. What a difference. It's pretty dam'd small, fits behind my 42" plasma, and only cost $38.00. ETA - So if you are holding off on a HD package, but want the local channels in HD, I would highly recommend this. Wish I would have picked it up a few months back. (after doing the auto-reset, I think I got around 30 channels) |
