The November match is Saturday, November 10th.  This will be a normal match including handgun.   Please use a handgun case or secure holster.  Bring 100 rifle rounds and 25 handguns rounds.  Chamber flags are required for rifles and are available at the range.   Ranges are out to 250 yards.

The match will be held in the quarry area, but sign-up, safety briefing and walk-through are at the action range stat shack.   New shooters must have attended a prior orientation by Alex ([email protected]).

If you can help set up the match, please come to the quarry at 0700 hours Saturday morning.   Light will be limited for the Friday night set up and we can't go in the quarry before 5pm on Friday night so if you can help on Friday we will be loading the trailer at 4:30pm.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR, PLEASE

Wednesday, November 14 – Election night at Tri-County Gun Club.   Randy and Terry are running for director positions.   Please come out and show your support for Practical Rifle!

You can see Randy's position at: Randy Schleining

You can see Terry's position at:   Terry Marles

Saturday, December 8th – Practical Rifle's annual NIGHT MATCH!  No new shooters at this match.  Sign-up is from 4:00-4:30pm.  Safety briefing and walk-through start at 4:30pm.   If you are late you are a spectator.  Please don't ask for an exception.

All you have to have is a rifle and a light.   Heck, the light isn't even absolutely needed.  Any other gear is acceptable, as long as it is safe and doesn't annoy the other shooters.

Saturday, February 9th – Sniper match!   Our annual Sniper Match scheduled at this time of year to keep the gamers at home.

Saturday, May 31st – Close Quarters Combat match in action pits.

Saturday, August 9th – Annual Mike Jones Memorial Classic Battle Rifle Match.

Saturday, August 30th – Special Sniper Match, in warm weather for snipers and armchair warriors alike.

See you at the range!

There ya go.

Nothing personal guys, but I hate being at the night match and hearing the bolt close on an AR back behind me somwhere...  Like it is OK to finger-fuck your rifle at the night match but people wouldn't do it at a match in the day light.

edit:  just to clarify the above statement, the night match is very safe and well run.  I didn't want to give the impression that it isn't.

"nothing personal guys" was directed at new shooters who may have wanted to come to the night match as their first taste of PR, not at the event organizers.

I highlighted those portions in red to indicate that I support the policy that new shooters are not allowed to come to their first PR match at a night shoot and there are no breaks given to late comers.  To me, those policies are mature decisions that might not be popular but are a reflection of the hard work and dedication to safety that goes into organizing those night matches.

So do you think we will need a standard case for December PR or can we use a case that we can store a take down rifle in? Like do you think there will be a stage where we uncase and load and then shoot as part of the stage? or will it mostly be at the point of the RO telling us to uncase and load and make ready? Lemme know so i don't bring the wrong case.. I like the take down case cuz it's COOOOlz

Sorry motorcyclekata Gunkata, but takedown cases aren't appropriate at any PR matches.

Both are allowed. If you can hit an 8" plate at 250 yards with your red-dot, then bring it. Or, if you can hit a IPSC head at 3 feet with a scope, bring it.

A big “thank you” to Terry for stepping into the match director’s shoes and putting on a great PR match. Stages were challenging, it ran smoothly, and it finished at a reasonable time.

I’ve been told that scores can be found here:

Also, “thank you” to the new participants for jumping through the hoops required to participate – we hope you enjoyed yourselves and we hope you’ll return.

And a congrats to ac for a number 1 finish.

...and to NoAim for not living up to his moniker.

...and to WS4LIF for getting beat by NoAim, but still pulling in a top 10.

Spray and pray?

Actually I finally learned how to do well at PR. Don't miss. I really concentrate harder on actually hitting my targets than being fast. And it usually works.

Well, except for the stages where I can out run the old men down the course.
