So, after confering with petagunner as to the correct way to go about this, I'd like to update everyone about ABG Buyers in Southtown Corvallis. For those who haven't been there before, the forum resources had a snippet about them as being a small pawn style shop, but they've really stepped up the gun selection and accesories. I've been dealing with these guys off and on for about 4 years now, and they had a table at the last Albany show. I was talking to David there about the OHT shoot last month, and a bit about ARFCOM. He called me up last week to stop in and check out the new lines and inventory they had in stock, and its much better than "10-15 guns in stock", as the old gun shop listing had said. So, heres from my email to peta from earlier today.

Hey Peta, just got back from a visit to ABG in southtown Corvallis to check out the new product lines they have, and the gun selection. These guys are more AR and AK friendly than almost any other shop I've been to. Half a dozen in stock, from a basic A2 up to reworked, freefloated customs. Their overall selection of long guns includes a handful of AK's, half a dozen SKS's, several defensive shotguns, and around 15 hunting rifles. They also have over 50 handguns on display, and another 60+ new guns in the back. Most of the stock is new, with a few used.

They're now a stocking CAA and TAPCO dealer, and I suggested stocking BUIS, small parts, and free floats. They're also working on YHM and a few other lines for stocking items.

If any one is driving through Corvallis, they're on 99W(aka South 3rd) across from Fred's Honda, next to the Circle K. Also, Desert Rat Surplus will be moving in right next to Fred's Honda by December/January.

Do you know if Desert Rat has any good quality ammo cans?  I could use some more.

You know, I stop in almost every Monday for a quick BS session, and I never paid attention to his ammo can inventory

last time I was in there (about a month ago) he had a big pile of 30 cal cans, but he wanted about $13 each for them.  didn't see any 50 cal cans.  prices and inventory may have changed, but IMO you can probably get them cheaper online if you look around.

I'm going to be stopping by Desert Rat sometime this week because I need some ammo cans to store all of my soon to be freshly reloaded .223 ammo!

Does ABG carry Troy? I need their rear BUIS.

I don't know if they have any Troy in stock, but they can get about anything. I've priced out the YHM free float and gas block I was looking at, and their prices are pretty much in line with most other suppliers. Tim had some flip ups also, but wasn't sure of the brand.

I figured you'd get into reloading after going shooting last week

Last time I was at ABG, they had about 5 old rusty guns there.  Bought some $0.50 VHS tapes though!

Sweet. We've got ABG and Desert Rat in here now.

I swing through ABG about once a month, their inventory does seem to have gotten much better. I'll be back down there tomorrow, have to swing by.

And Desert Rat will soon be right across the street from them, how convenient. I believe Desert Rat is also offering “AR Services” with Geoff being an armorer, he has  helped me out with a bunch of things.

This sounds like advertising to me and they aren't a paying vendor, funny how things work.

For fucks sake, justin......I took my time and sent several emails to peta to do this the right way. Its an update to the OHT forum resources, and then they're responsible for contacting the site staff for advertising. If you notice, I don't work for them, I'm not getting paid by them, I did this to support one of my local shops, to just get them a little more exposure......from here on out, they're on their own to become paid vendors. You know what, hey peta, can you lock this....I think enough people have read it already.

There is a huge difference between folks in here letting us know of a gunshop and changes in it, let alone the gunshop chiming in....

AND REPLYING TO A THREAD OFFERING SOMETHING FOR SALE.  That is what you got slapped for Justin, not advertising, but for a reply with something for sale.  Read the forum rules.

And if you want to really take the time to read, there was an edit on one of the posts in here to correct what you are complaining about.

If you have a problem, go to staff.  Don't continually bash or bitch about the site by posting about it in here.
