ok, some Ar15 have a fixed carry handle and some have a detachable, which one is better or is there no difference?

The flattops are so you can mount optics lower.

When you mount an optic on a carry handle your have to raise your head up and you loose checkweld. The trajectory is also messy with an overly high mounted scope. It's still workable, just not as good as going lower and closer to the bore.

Most people with flattops don't even bother to buy a detachable carry handle. For a little more money you can buy a fold down rear sight that sits under the scope, so that's the route most people take.

The A1/A2 (perm attachet carry handle) has a bigger oppening and thus is easier to get the hand through for carrying the rifle.  The Flat top wtih a detach carry handle has a smaller hole for the hand, but it gives you a lot more options for optics and BUIS, and is easier to mount said optics.  I prefer the flat top just so that I have the flexibility later on if I want to put an optic or whatever on it.  Just depends on what you want.

Better? Well thats somewhat subjective. But I went with a flat top and then mounted a removable carry handle because I like the classic'ish look. However if I ever want to mount an optic I can just remove or dremel my handle down. If your looking for a purely KISS (keep it simple stupid) rifle then you might want to go with a standard A1/A2 fixed upper. Like others said, mounting to the carry handle is pretty much obsolete these days.

I would go flat top, its better IMO.

Another one for the flat top here. Way more options that way, plus it's tacticool.
