First and fore most I would like to PUBLICLY Thanks No-Aim for making a special trip out to help! Do to a question posted on Silencer-Tests.com about the amount of FLASH coming out of a certain can, I am in need of an @@C M4-2000 (2006 Model if possible) for NIGHT testing. Also need to locate some M855 and TAP .223 ammo. If you can help, please let me know, I will make it worth your time. Here is a link to MY TESTING so far: ORL-LLC Flash testing So, we will be setting up at 8:30 p.m. tonight, will start shooting around 9pm You are WELCOME, but call or email to let me know you are coming out. 5-29-2007: I just heard from SRT, he is sending me 3 more of his cans for testing. 6-1-2007; We have THREE MORE SRT can's Any one want to bring an AAC or others? Let me know. Pat |
I had some 5.56 62 grain ammo made in Yemen. If thats the Arab ammo your talking about watch out.At least 3 or 4 rounds per mag would dump there primers in the weapon after being fired. Most the time they fell into the trigger area, but a few got stuck in the chamber between the paths for the bolt lugs.
|
Here comes the RAIN Think we are good on 855, but you are welcome to come, and bring ammo if you wish. Pat |
The EXACT same thing happened to me with the last batch of HSM, but only in the M16, the HK and Galil ate it fine?????? |
You may want to check if high humidity changes things- High hydrogen content or something. NoHair |
Trust me you wouldn't like it!! But I know what yoy mean about times like these. I'd have made a special trip out even living as far out as I did;ne of vancouver. |

You missed a good time and a good learning experience. I brought an AAC M4-2000 on a POF upper; Pat also had a SRT Typhoon, Triple XXX, a SRT .308 can that we used on a .223. The .308 can on the .223 had a nice sound with good suppression. We also had a M4-2000 mounted on an AK-74 in 5.45x39 at the night shoot. The point of the test was to look at the flash at night with several different kinds of ammo. The SRT Typhoon did not have anywhere near the flash that was shown in some pictures posted on another site. Dave Brown |
Sort of. Keep in mind that picture has 10 shots all superimposed on it. The biggest "flash" is actually just the first round "pop". Afterwards there was a minimal 1-3"L x 1/2" W jet of flame out the front. And, that was also from a 10" barrel. A 16" barrel or longer will likely have a small flame for the first round, and just smoke (no flame) for the rest. This is what we were seeing on the other cans. Basically, the shooting consisted of a lot of "flame, smoke, smoke, smoke". The shorter the barrels, the smoke started turning into a small jet of flame. So it's not like you see it all the time. |
Annnnnnnndddddd so off track it's not funny. Photography talk 101 Typical silvers bullshit if you ask me.On that note, the guy from Gemtech this wknd at Albany was very nice!! So was the 416 I got to rattle a mag off of too |
That much closer to me getting banned. |
Why? What did I miss? |
Anytime you call sombodys website a "Suckfest" your time is usually limited! ![]() |
I'll remember that one. I already got an IM from him.....ON MY 2ND POST What a pompus ass he is |
So....the first shots are that way. The rest are exactly as you ask. One shot only. Then the next picture is 3 shots on semi as fast as you can pull the trigger. Geez. |
The fact that you so generously pointed out that I was a mod probably didn't help my cause out much. Buuuuuuuuuuuttttttttt........my account has not been nuked yet. How long should I ignore those IM's?
|
I couldnt help it! Just so you know, I resisted........but the laughter won me over. Just tell them that your the mod in the BOTD forum and they will become your best friend! |
Then what does that mean? Also, you should post some pictures (or even better, video) of the view through your scope when it ALL turns to flame on that new AR of yours. That was scary to shoot. I'm not used to a ball of fire engulfing my entire field of view. |
Hehe. You know...I should try that on my little 10.5"... |

From his website... "Mr. Silvers is a Photographer and Artist who holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts as well as a Master of Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Silvers now designs silencers for AAC and no longer does independent testing." nothing jumps out at me as being qualified to do anything like engineering a silencer...photography, artist, computer science and media arts?...damn hippy Art majors... |
Agreed. For me I dont take much of it very serious as after all, it is one mfg slamming another in most cases there. People are fast to jump on all mfgs except AAC on that website. It just gets old. |
Rob Silvers might be biased but from my experience with him, he does know his shit and has played with more cans and full-auto's then all of us combined. He speaks his mind and gives his opinion....and there's nothing wrong with that.
Ant' that the truth....they even gave me one! |
Boy you Origonians sure stick together
|

Thats some enginnering degree he has......aint it!
