Not very AR-15 of me, But it IS a black rifle.
I'm looking at getting a DSA SA58TAC mid June.
Anyone have any input on the company or the gun?

I built a FAL on a DSA Type 2 receiver this last winter. I absolutely love that rifle. Fun to shoot- very reliable and accurate. Too bad .308 is so expensive now.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about their STG58s. You really can't go wrong with a DSA. They generally have a long back order though, so be prepared to wait (a main reason why I built mine). Lots of good info over at falfiles.com

I've had a DSA STG-58 for a few years.  All in all, I am happy with the gun.  It's
a little heavy, but what the hell, it's .308.  DSA makes a very nice gun and is a
top notch company.  You won't be unhappy.

DSA is great, but as far as FALs go, they are the only real game in town, and their prices reflect that...

I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a mint STG58 Para that was on consignment for $1100.

FALs are fun and DSA is great, but have you considered an HK style rifle? The German ones are over 2000$ but there is a company called PTR91inc. building great copies in the U.S.The price is about that of a DSA FAL.I'm not trying to steer you away from your'e dream rifle, just want to let you know the options you have. I absolutely love my HK91 and have fired the PTR91 copies with a Shit Chowin' grin.

+1  I love my PTR91  mags are stupid cheap for the surp mags.  But I could go either way on the 308 guns.  The FAL fit nice, but for $850 I got a nice hardly used PTR with a few mags.  I kinda like the sights on the HK/PTR a little better than the FAL.  I think its kinda hard to go wrong with a 308 gun though.  Unless its a totally poor built pos.  If i had the $$ I would get me a M1A.  But for know my HK clone suits me just fine.  If only ammo prices would come down, or I would get the rest of the reloading equipment I need....

FALs are great (heavy though) and while I haven't had a complete rifle built by DSA, I do have my little shorty built with their parts and another rifle waiting to be built on a DSA receiver.

Rest assured, if you're buying DSA, you're buying the best thing out there. Top shelf hardware and an excellent company to do business with.

Love my shorty

DSA makes a great rifle, had one for a good bit o' time now and it's a pleasure to shoot.  Heavy, as previously stated but a rock solid piece of equipment.  Never a problem with this weapon.
I recently picked up a JLD PTR-91, also fun to shoot for less $$.  HK tooling and some original HK parts, no HK price

Happy camper with a DSArms StG58 since 1998.

I took off the stupid brake on the night of the AWB ban going out.

I love this rifle. It's heavy but its accurate.

Whoever had this rifle somehow put a nice trigger job on and it throws bullets nicely with Hornavy TAP 155 easily into subMOA if I do my part.

I put a lupy mark 4 on it and it just shoots wonders...

I dig this rifle alot...not a problem or boot.

That was almost exactly what my dad said about his M14 while in the service!  In regards to putting someone's head down, an M16 will get someone's attention when that round whacks something..... but when that 308 thumps the same something, folks get real low......
