OK, I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble, but... I thinking of heading up to WA to sneak in some good fireworks, but I'm a bit confused as to what/where I can get them? Do any of the regular WA stands have bottle rockets, mortars, and such, or do I have to go to the reservations? If so, what's the closest to the border? I'm making the trip from Central OR, so I'm trying to avoid a 15 hr. drive day... |
| Go to Washington. Take I-5 North to the Rochester Exit and follow the signs to the Indian casino (Lucky Eagle, I think). You will see the signs for the Indian fireworks. Its about an hour and a half to get there. Look for the guy who hangs out in the back of the firework stands, he will hook you up with the "serious" firecrackers. |

washington stands have everything except firecrackers and bottle rockets, so of course m-60's, 80's, and 100's are out. reservations are the place for the forbidden. Drive safe and stash the goods! They- [the fuzz, 5-0's, the man, law, elites, porkers, (no offense to those I just offended)} will confiscate them! BUT, on the bright side, you may get a spot on the 10'oclock news!

Or if you go up 101,the Shoalwater res is an hour or so from Astoria. At Tokeland on Willapa Bay. |

The key for fun with fireworks of a certain type is the same with real estate: location. What you do NOT want to do is lay up in your gigglefest/yeeha area (say behind a bar) and launch into unknown/unexplored terrain (hmmm... how about, of all things, the parking lot of a police station). Yeah, something like that could happen. |
