YES! I loved the dvd about the history and purpose of the 2nd amendment, I try to share that one as much as possible.

The MP5 competion was cool too, not suprising that the non-LEO fellows didn't win

Yeah I'm a member of FS and have been going there a couple times a year since '01.  If you have any questions about it lemme know.

It would be cool if we could get an OR arfcomm group together and go down there some time ( I seriously need work on my PR skills).   You can get your first class really cheap.

I finally watched most of the DVD last night, probably finish it tonight. I looked into them when I first started looking fo someplace to train, but decided it was too far and a little on the spendy side. I opted for someplace local and have been very satisfied. I do plan to attend classes at as many diferent schools as I can, and they are still on the list. I'd be very interested in a visit for the M16 course.

How much does ammo cost?

azathoth:  about a buck eighty

j/k Just buy whatever cheap range ammo you normally buy.  Wolf etc is fine.  But no steel core.  You can have the ammo shipped to your hotel there (they're cool about it) or you can call the Pahrump NV Wal-Mart ahead of time and pre-order your ammo and pick it up when you arrive.  Or you can drive down there w/your own ammo but it's a bit far from here.  I know a guy who flies there from Minneapolis and checks in a case of ammo, spread out across multiple bags.    Where there's a will there's a way.

FS has a rule that if you rent their M16s or Uzis you need to use their ammo.  I'll warn you that if you're not a FS member the ammo prices are high there, so either 1) bring your own M16/subgun and ammo, or 2) go with a member like me who can buy the ammo at FS at wholesale price

Regarding class cost, for your first class you can pretty easily get a "first timer" certificate for about $100 (search eBay or fs-certs.com for going price).

It's more fun if you can take a 4-day class (Fri thru  Mon) and then take a few days vacation in Vegas.  That way, you're happy, the wife/gf is happy, everyone's happy.  Or, have her take a handgun class - they are VERY professional, women-friendly there.  No foul language, no boot camp mentality etc.

The M16 course is what I'm mainly interested in right now. The membership would be a good deal if I lived closer. I might try to make the one in November, I hunt second Elk season so the timing is good. Those groups they were getting in the video FA were impressive. Think they can get me that good with my M14?
