OK, so after the thread locking, I'll continue.... I've decided to go with a 1:8 Wilson Barrel as I feel it may be somewhat more accurate and it's a "heavy" barrel. Something I prefer as I would not appreciate "barrel droop". The DD. rail should assist in cooling, I suspect. Maybe one day I'll get a fluted one too.... So, no more discussions on rate of twist please. H139 Essentially a 0 to 100 yard SHTF, reliable, combat-accurate rifle that both I and my wife can use. I already have my .308 custom-built blaster for longer distances on it's way from the UK (at last!): http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/162/76217ni.jpg So the ability to "reach out and touch something" is not a high priority. More a close-in reliable compact rifle that I'm needing. Think TCGC Practical rifle comp, night shoots, fast shooting at multiple IPSC targets. My wife also says we need a little more firepower than the current handgun collection for warding off goblins in a SHTF scenario. I dearly don't want to hang the proverbial 20lb of crap off of an AR, but I do feel that an Eothingy with BUIS is just going to be faster for that style of shooting. So far my configuration hasn't really changed that much, save to dispense with the muzzle break and stock with a flash hider. I thought about the Bushmaster Modular Carbine, but the skeleton stock doesn't appeal, especially as I know the foam rubber cheekpiece will collapse in a few months of hard use. Other models did not seem as close to what I wanted "out of the box" as RRA. Compared with the Bushmaster, the RRA configuration looks like a fair deal. Cheers 7.62 |

I am sorry about the lock, but fealt it was needed before a few folks went ballistic. Lets keep this one on track and try not to hijack it with twist rates and bullet stabilization, phases of the moon, when the fish are biting, who the real silver surfer was and why you think the Beavers should be the #1 team in the BCS
