| I've been reading my 04 hunting regs, and apparently there is a growing hog invasion, they call them feral swine. Does anybody know where to hunt them? Maybe get a little group hunt/BBQ together. |

ive heard also about the hogs from my dad grandad uncles etc I have read online that they are a problem around the califonia coast my dad has gone out looking for them and has never seen a trace of them ive gone out looking for them around coosbay erea (old elkhorn ranch) i have never seen any of them. i am told by grandad that the hogs are all gone. uncle says hes heard of reports around pistle river erea (on the coast close to califonia) ive been on more then one wild goose chase eeer "wild hog chase" i am told to find the hogs you have to look around old homesteads around the coast around a river.. anyplace that had water and homesteaders and orchards etc years ago that raised hogs... years and years ago people around the pistle river erea would all carry "pig guns" becuse they had encounters with mean hogs when fishing. If your gonna find hogs i recomond searching pistle river erea thats the most likeley place where youll find them acording to all the old old timers ive talked to about it. i have not been there yet in search of them but will make one last attempt to find them around that erea as soon as work alows me to do so, before forever giving up on this "wild hog chase" if any of you have personaley seen a "wild hog" or heard rumors about them let me know.. oh about the ashland thing... my dad lives there and has for some time and has also searched there for the hogs...... no luck. |
| From what I got out of the guy who works at the range, out around Mitchell is the place to try. Somebody has or had a hunting preserve out there, and you just can't keep hogs in. He talked like they were getting to be quite a problem. I'm going to check with Fish & Game tomorrow and see if they have any suggestions. I've also heard rumors about Washington. |

I'm up for a hunt . Read that one of these fee organizations thats leasing up all the land for fee hunting illegally planted some and now we got HOGS GONE WILD so hunt to kill kill to hunt and eat what we kill. Call ODFW and they might be able to help out originally only giving out land owners tags but if they get out on whats left of public lands well fair game. |
