I have 4 large "picture" windows on the back of my house - 72" x 47.5" each.  The glass is getting foggy on a couple of them and I want to look into getting them replaced.  Does anyone have any recommendations for such replacements?  I'm in south Forsyth county, if it matters.

Dad used Home depot and was very happy.

YMMV

Anderson Integrity windows are awesome. I replaced all mine a few years ago with the Integrity's, would do it again without  hesitation.

We are getting some of ours replaced right now by North Georgia replacement windows.  They are much better than the wood windows we have now.

I used Home Depot for my windows and it was a cluster fuck of the highest degree.  They sent installers initially that made a wreck of my house and did not install the windows correctly.  The installation was so bad that they had to  order my windows again and send out another group of installers. Once these were installed I demanded they send out a crew to repair the cracks in the drywall, repair the damaged trim and paint where the origignal installers had screwed up.  I was doing it again, I would talk with Handy Dave and follow his advice.

Has anyone priced windows near that size?  I know there are a lot of variables, but I suspect we're talking about $1000 per window.  Maybe I'll get a Home Depot quote and then go to something like North GA Replacement Windows for what might be a more professional installation crew.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I've got a quote just for the windows somewhere and they were around $700-$1000 a piece for Pellas. Not sure on Install as I planned to do it. These were 67 x 77. I think 5-700 is probably a good ballpark.

I don't have a traditional brickmold around my windows so don't really know how to install them. I'm too cheap to pay someone and too gutless to try ;)

I'm wanting to replace double and triple sliding window units with straight picture windows.

Integrity is a brand name for Marvin windows.   They are excellent windows but pretty pricey.

We built a new house two years ago and used the Anderson 100 series windows.   They are one of the most reasonably priced Anderson windows but they have the same low-e glass as any of the more expensive "premium" windows.. Home Depot carries them but we bought ours through ABC Supply in Marietta.

Tagged.

Our windows, in some places, have a gap between the window and the spring-loaded frame that I can almost stick my finger through.

You are correct, I had a brain fart.  The doors I bought were from Andersen but the windows are from Marvin.

Cardinal Glass CG in Buford has glass sheets up to 96x144.
Not sure if they sell retail or how to get ahold of it. I know they supply Pella, Anderson, etc... so maybe they could recommend a local contractor.
