With the evacuations going on and everyone heading West on I-16, on both sides of the road, how far up is 16 closed for East traffic?
I'm heading to Macon for the QRF Suppressor shoot on Saturday and have to take I-16 for just a little bit.
Thanks

ETA: I got the following from the GA DOT website. I think it will be ok, just not sure where at before Macon does the flow switch back to regular??
Process of Contraflow
Barricade is in place on I-16 EB at SR 26 in Laurens to allow evacuation traffic to use all 4 lanes in a WB direction.
A median crossover on I-16 east of I-95 crosses traffic over onto I-16 EB lanes to travel WB. A cross-over on I-16 at SR 26 (MP 38) in Laurens County directs traffic back to regular WB lanes prior to arrival in Macon.
All EB access at interchanges are blocked from Dublin to Savannah
Travelers may exit contraflow lanes (traveling WB on regularly EB lanes) at designated interchanges at:
Exit 143 @ SR 30 / US 280
Exit 116 @ SR 73 / US 301
Exit 104 @SR 23 / SR 121
Exit 90 @ SR 4 / US 1
Exit 71 @SR 15 / SR 78
Exit67 @ SR 29
Exit 51 @ SR 31 / US 319 / US 441
All other exits are closed within the contraflow section.
All WB exits will be open
Please obey law enforcement staged along the evacuation route to assist you.

I was just out there yesterday so I can give you a bit of info.

I16 reverts to 2 way traffic one exit west of dublin Ga with east bound traffic being diverted 2 exits west.

You will be fine around macon with the following exception.

Expect heavy as fawk traffic north bound I75 and west bound I16 due to the storm.

Expect heavy as all fawking get out police traffic enforcement in the same area's.

What he said....X 2....If you can run backroads it would be worth it...For example, from Forsyth you can run through Smarr and Bolingbroke and come in just West of I-75 into Macon...Check some of the map apps for alternate routes....
...Even if you end up adding 20-30 miles to the trip you will probably save time with only locals sharing the route with you....

Right now it looks like very minimal if any traffic impeding you from getting to the range (6170 Marion Rd. Macon, GA).  I assume traffic should be even less tomorrow.

Last time they evacuated the coast up I-16 I got stuck in traffic that was going back to where they came from. North of Macon I sat in one spot for over an hour trying to get to Warner Robins, as soon as I could get off the interstate I turned around and came back to the shop. Decided to let UPS make that trip for me.

No telling when they will allow people back to the evacuated areas but I bet many will attempt to get home before they open the areas back up.
