The Harrison read sight looks like the ticket, that's exactly what I wanted.
They do bite me, but I didn't want to do the built-up beavertail. C&S makes a "no-bite" hammer, thought I'd try it. http://www.cylinder-slide.com/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=CS0197 Haven't made up my mind 100% yet on the beavertail/no beavertail. |

Agreed on the beavertail. It totally eliminate hammer bites but it takes away from that traditional HP look. I hope the C&S no bite hammer will take care of you, I'd like to handle it when your project is done.
What about the thumb safety? the factory one is too flat, I can't get a positive contact with it. |
|
Haven't decided on the safety yet, either. I don't have issues with the factory safeties. I don't mind the idea of the wider C&S ambi-safety; I don't see me CCW'ing this. It will be a range toy and something I run from time-to-time when I'm teaching classes.
With the big beavertail, the HP starts to look like a CZ or something. I'd prefer not to do it. |

CMShoot,
Please stop with these projects. You already have me thinking that $2300 scopes with $500 bases are not only reasonable, but necessary. Now you have me interested in getting custom work done for pistols that I don't own. I am impressionable and drawn to shiny things. You are killing me. |

I have a beater HiPower in the safe and now I'm thinking of the things I could do to make it better (such as adjustments to the feeding so it'll take a wider variety of ammunition). |

Quoted: I have a very aggressive high-hand grip. Stock BHP's and USGI 1911's bite the crap out of me. Yeah, I can't shoot Walther PPK/Makarov type pistols due to my grip and hand size. Shame, since I have two CZ-82's I picked up a few years ago, but they're safe queens right now. |

You notice that the current PPK and PPK/S have longer beavertail to eliminate hammer bite. I guess those old PPK never bothered Bond, James Bond. :) |
