| Does anyone know of some good outdoor ranges. I'm looking anywhere from Atlanta all the way up to SC. I want to find a place to test my new AR with some more distance. Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks! |

There's a 200 yard SC DNR range in Pauline, SC which is in Spartanburg County. |
| I suppose it depends on the cost of club membership. I "belong" to an indoor range near Greenville. A simple indoor range that I try and get to once a week. I took my CWP class there which afforded me a year's membership for free and a 5% discount on anything you buy there (ammo, guns, accessories, etc.). I'd certainly be interested in hearing about clubs and what they have to offer! |

I take I-85 down to Atlanta. My family lives just north of Atlanta and I visit frequently so if there's a place along the way, I would definitely consider going there. Oh well.... The Angry Emu Range, a range built by-and-for ARFcommers of the GA HTF, is just south of I-20 near Madison, GA. It's about 90 miles from the SC border, and about 50 miles from the I-20 & 285 junction, on the east side of Atlanta. Unfortunately, being on I-20, makes it the wrong interstate from SC to Atlanta for you. Sorry, I don't have a clue about anything up your way....

Allen Arms? When it comes to outdoor ranges, SC DNR has better offerings than GA IMO. In Greenville you could look at the Greenville Gun Club. It's located in Conestee not far off Mauldin Road near the Reedy Baptist Church. I think it's a $500 initiation fee and maybe $360 a year or something like that. You have to be voted in. |

Oops, not that it matters to the OP, but I just realized that I failed to mention that there are NEVER any range fees at the Angry Emu Range, if anyone else happens to see this thread and might be interested in shooting out here. We'd appreciate it if "members" could join us for some work days, as their time and schedules allow. But even that's not mandatory either. 'Nuff said, as you were.... Best of luck finding something in your AO, ATbrO!!! |
