What do the shelves (and prices) look like in the LGS? I've been meaning to get a 9mm can before 41f is fully implemented, only because it's the only caliber I don't have and well, why not?
I tried calling Cherokee but couldn't get anyone to answer and couldn't get anyone to call me back. Is stock still reasonably available with pre-Orlando pricing? |

D_J I think you picked the wrong week to try and get people to pick up the phone in a LGS. I'm sure they're busy with the impending election craziness + Orlando "fever".
I know I was on Bullseye Lawrenceville's page yesterday and they had a few pistol caliber cans in. They listed a Sig 45 in stock, but not the 9mm version. I think they had Ospreys in both 45 & 9 as well.. but of course best to call and check before you make a drive anywhere. IF you can get them to pick up the phone that is... Good luck! |

Well, I called a few weeks ago, but your point is well taken. Cherokee has been my go-to for the last few years, but it's an hour drive +/- each way only to find out nothing is in stock or no deals are to be had. I may try once more and then try QRF or the local alpharetta stores. |

I'd make it a point to get all the mounts you need as a package. You'll get better pricing and the mounts become extinct or hard to find in a lot of cases after 5 years What sort of mounts? You mean like 51t flash hiders? Pistols are all direct thread, I thought. |
|
Yes, and no.
They're direct thread - but there's a bunch of different thread pitches out there, so most are either specifically threaded to a certain pitch (which would pretty much be your .22 cans) or have interchangeable pistons that vary the thread pitch. Examples: SilencerCo Osprey Pistons AAC TiRant piston So if your can comes with a piston of a different pitch, you just swap out the piston for whatever matches the barrel and then you're off to the races. It's part of what makes them versatile so that you CAN put it on a number of different hosts, for instance mount your 45 caliber can to a 40, 9mm, 45, and even perhaps a 300BLK with subsonic rounds. All those barrels are going to have different thread pitches, but just by swapping out the piston you can make the can mount up to each barrel easy. Problem is, if you have multiple hosts you may need multiple pistons which just drives up the cost of ownership initially. |

You're right - my .22 can has one host and my .45 can has one, but each might need to be on other hosts later and I've got a variety of 9mm potential hosts. I'll look into this. |

For a 9mm can I'd look at
1/2x28 booster 1/2x28 fixed Metric booster for hk factory glock etc Fixed works for beretta as well as Cz scorpion , any rifle you want to thread etc. Additionally I have a 5/8 fixed for 300 blk subs There's currently some aftermarket vendors making mounts for my can , swr trident , but they are not regular inventory Cans are forever. I can't want till they transfer like title 1 firearms. |

I know Cherokee has the Omega 9k....Hybrid....can't remember past that. There was a ton of people in there today and calling nonstop. I was thinking maybe Ti-RANT 9S, but I could do Omega 9K for a good price. I've got a pile of AAC and Specwar cans. I think I could get out there Saturday. I might be able to swing by tomorrow on the way to a friend's house in Canton if I leave early enough, but that's a big IF. Wish I could find the price and get someone to put it behind the counter for me if the price works. |
| 9mm cans are alot lighter and seem to be just about as quiet as a 30 cal can for sub 300BO.Since there AL, they seem to cool down faster too. Its cool to have the option particularly because sometimes I am shooting my 308 and 300BO at the same time. At the time the mounts were <$50 or so. |

Bought the TiRant they had on the way in, but got the 45M version. They seemed to have a good bit available, a few 9mm cans available. |
