Anybody find any device that works as well as a plumb bob hanging downrange? I like mounting scopes indoors, but tend to have to adjust them when I first hit the range.

This looked interesting:

I've tried most all the gadgets and still haven't found anything that works better than my eye. I rarely use a bubble to mount scopes.

Set of feeler gauges make it right every time

I have one of these .  It seems to work pretty well. You're more than welcome to borrow it if you just have the one scope.

The arisaka is the balls.

But it's only effective if you're mounting on a 1913 rail AND your scope has a properly machined bottom saddle.

Won't work if you are using standard type rings (Leupold, weaver; etc) or a cheap scope that doesn't have a flat saddle.

Yep, I have an Arisaka too.  I like it for AR mounts.

I've always found a dead level/plumb door frame and adjusted the crosshairs to line up while holding the rifle. Seems to work for me.

I use a combination of the Wheeler Level-Level-Level, a plumb line, and a Mark IV eyeball.

I've used a deck of cards the last half a dozen or so times and it works great and it's fast.

If you have a one piece rail this works great,  arisaka wedge

Took me all on 3 min to get set up and torqued down

Kinda the issue with the Wheeler Level-Level-Level.  If the top of the elevation turret isn't level and square, the system won't work.  I've seen this in several Leupold Mark 4's. That's why I use the levels, the double check with a plumb line.

I ordered the BIG kit through AMAZON for $37 w/free shipping:

Hope it works on LaRue Mounts.

Looks like it will beat the piss out of feeler gauges...
and my expensive torpedo level gauge that's accurate to 20sec.
