I have a 4.6L 01 F150 I got a few months back. It has 210XXX miles on it. When I got it it had a couple issues and I got them fixed but still have 2 issues im not sure of. Engine wise I have replaced the timing chain/guides, all plugs and coil packs, lash adjusters on passengers side, flushed radiator. 1 of my issues is when first cranked up after sitting for more than an hour or so 99% of the time i'll get a clacking sound from the passenger side for 10-15 seconds. I'm guessing I have an oil flow issue to that side? any ideas where to look?
2nd is 95% of the time from about 35-40 MPH the truck feels a little bouncy? A couple times I have felt it from 10MPH up to 45+. I have looked around the net and am thinking it may be the torque converter? A new set of tires made no difference. I know its impossable to fix over the net im just looking for possabile things to check or look at. I have done all the work myself and would not be afraid of pulling and rebuilding the entire engine/transmission or anything on the truck myself if needed. I feel I can do any work needed but I just do not know how to narrow it down to exactly what needs to be done.

did the guide tensioners get replaced with the new guides as far as "bouncy" i would need to ride in it.

there is an oil passage in the head that feeds the tensioner.......I have run into it more than once......this is why I won't touch a 4.6 in the frame anymore...or wouldn't before I quit building engines.....remove the tensioners and see if you can dig the port out......but if I remember it makes a couple of turns...I THINK there are some screw plugs that can be removed  that will allow you to blow it out......and if you can get the lifter out closest to the tensioner that might offer access..........been several years since I have built one...will try and look at a head in the AM....odd are you'll wind up pulling the heads and having them cleaned......I have seen 4.6's with no measurable cylinder wear at well over 300,000 miles....my personal truck has 248,000....I'd definitely recommend pulling the heads and seriously cleaning....and it is easier to pull the engine than try and inframe it.....and if it is out...stick a set of bearings and an oil pump in it......have the block honed and vatted.....if near Macon... I can help on parts and the cleaning.....I don't do engines anymore....but I still have one auto machinist working....and My Dad who has been building engines since the 1940's still comes in everyday......

then Rudy is correct, oil feed issue, you can rig up a oil pressure gauge  on the back of the cylinder head and see what exactly the oil pressure is on each cylinder head. it's odd to be just on one head, does it do it with the belt off also I've seen accessories tensioners and idlers  make weird noises
