Has anyone been down there lately? I am trying to get a 1903 and cant find any local. I bought my last Garand from them years ago. If you have, did they have a large stock?

Currently no 1903s for sale. Here is a link to a status report on the CMP forum:

If you've never been, I recommend going even if the inventory is low. You can still find something worth buying.

If any of you make the trip:  plan for the day and go to the Talladega Marksmanship Park too.  If you have not been yet - it is stop your heart breathtaking!  Shooter's version of heaven.

I was there two weekends ago, only 1903's were drill rifles. There was a decent selection of rack, field, and service grade M1's though.

Went to the Talladega range last week and they had 2 1903 A3 in the Creedmore pro shop. I shot 4 different rifles at 200-300-600

Going to try and make the drive down this week if I can. I need more 30-06 for my Garand. Wouldnt mind picking up another shooter Garand to go with my correct grade.

Would take an act of Congress. That info goes around every few years.

What's your source?

Im really looking forward to seeing this facility. Im going to leave here around 0600 so I can make it to CMP as they open. Hopefully to get another Garand and some ammo. Then head over to the range and shoot some.

Its been years since Ive been to the CMP but do they still sell a lot of 30-06, slings and bayonets there?
