Charter has a big footprint. You won't be able to keep your TWC... which I'm guessing is who you have in NY. Some municipalities run their own thing. AT&T has Uverse in some areas as well. It is really hit or miss. My subdivision has ~360 homes. Approximately half the neighborhood is Charter, and half is Comcast. I believe Google fiber is coming to ATL, etc.
IBSSNMNYWAF - In before someone says no more New Yorkers. We are full.

Found this link. If you know what zip code(s) are of interest, you can get an idea who services the area. If you are in Metro Atlanta, you probably won't know until you decide on a specific house.

.
I hate to say this, but you need to use some Guberment websites. Use the Public Service Commission to find out what Internet providers/ISPs service your location. Once you have those, let us know and those of us with opinions will not hold back! The two main ones in Metro Atlanta are probably Comcast via cable IE non-secure node connection or AT&T DSL and U-verse. |

Thank you all for the replies, I currently have FiOs which is really good and noticed they dont have anything down there. I do a lot of things online so I depend on it and dont want to be capped. at the same times I looking to get out of this shit hole as I hate it more and more every day that passes..

Uverse is similar to FIOS. Generally super stable, but when it goes down it requires alot of unplug replug restart to get it going. I highly recommend a UPS on whatever modem you get. |

It depends on where you live. Atlanta is getting Google Fiber, which is even better than Fios. But if you are out of the city, your best choice may be cable.
Cable generally has the fastest speeds outside of fiber, and DSL is generally the most stable for throughput since it isn't a shared line like Cable is. But DSL is generally much slower. No matter what you get, you have data caps that limit how much streaming you can do unless you want to pay overages. I think they cap it at 350 Gig/ month and each 50 GB after that is $10. |

I had Comcast triple play - but was getting hammered with overages. All household members watche Netflix/appletv/Amazon. I am also a heavy data user for my home office.
I cut off the consumer Comcast and went with Comcast business. Faster speeds and no data cap. |
