I've been once, and it wasn't for very long or to Quebec. I went to visit a buddy in Toronto. loved it up there, the people were friendly and the city was clean. It's fun listening to Canadins talk about "unbearable heat". Almost forgot the beer is pretty good too.

Eat lots of crepes?  Quebec City is interesting especially the walled part.  Food is excellent everywhere you go, but I thought the best was in Montreal.  Overall French Canada is a lot like here, just everyone speaks French until you ask if they speak English.

Out of all the places in Canada to go, for me Quebec isn't it. Do you speak french? Can you pretend not to be an American much less a Southerner?

Toronto and everything to the west is the best part of Canada IMHO (other then Niagara Falls to the southeast). Went to Ericsson School up there. Ericsson gave us Skybox Seats to see the Blue Jays. People are friendly and great to meet.

Went to Quebec (I speak french) and they were nothing but jerks!

Just my 2 cents, YMMV

Don't think I'm going into Quebec city. I was thinking maybe going in heading west towards Montreal and maybe to the falls. Then back across to NH.

Well here's an idea.  Go up to St. John and catch a ferry to Nova Scotia and go to Halifax.  Very nice this time of year.  Great boardwalk area, lots of bars and restaurants.  Big college town (I think there's 5 there) so lots of young people (not that I care, being an old fart, but it does bring in the bands and the booze).  And there's lobster everywhere.

We have a Cola Warrior up there in the icy north that goes by the name of The Canuck here on ARFCOM. Give him a shout.

If you are in Montreal, take the time to go to Schwartz's deli and have their smoked meat, or Montreal's version of pastrami. It is freakin' awesome. Also order a steak or mixed grill. Myself and a few friends went there and it was really good. Really good, and fun with those zany old dudes that work there. Watch out for panhandlers in the great white north. Take off, eh?

I went to Ottawa last year. Pretty easy to get around and decent people everywhere.

You'll have to get some poutine!

Me, wife, her two sisters, our daughter and granddaughter too a cruise on Holland American Line from Seattle to Juneau.  Absolute best trip.  Everything was insanely great.  Alaska is beautiful, and we got about 3000 pictures, every one fitting for a post card.  Highly recommended.
