Wife is flying to a conference staying at Hyatt Regency next week. I mentioned the iconic 'blown out the window' scene in the movie that was filmed there, but she didn't know about it. I guess that scene just sticks in a GA kid's head.
That was back when I just started Tech and I was 'country-come-to-town'. Seemed like people actually was proud of Atlanta back then. I know I wasn't as leery of it as I am now. Back then, I actually PT'd down Techwood in the middle of the night. Alone sometimes. Perhaps I was just stupid and bulletproof. (I think I will get my sis to loan her a pistola while she's there. Too much PITA to check them these days) Enjoy your weekend |

Portions of the film were filmed in the upper level of the cylindrical C&S bank building at North Avenue and Spring St. , NE corner of the intersection. If one views the film , the sprayed on insulation on the structural members had to be removed prior to demolition of the building, very costly. Things were indeed different in that area back then.

Because it was shorter and looks like Peachtree Plaza. Either way, it's a reminiscent era for me. I've enjoyed visiting both places as a young man. For those that give a hoot, GT BAE '85 |
