okay, I have broken the front Allen screw on a gas key twice. Replaced both screws and the gas key last time. What gives? Not more than a few hundred rounds since I replaced it last. No visible damage on the key so I don't think it's hitting anything. Both have sheared at the base of the head.

If the gas key is properly staked it should never come out.

Try a different screw manufacturer.

I've never seen them break before, maybe you got some brittle ones.

The key was staked.

I will try a different manufacturer.

I run a BCG from VooDoo Innovstions that has an integral gas key. Less parts, nothing to break. Also, the coating they have on it makes cleaning a snap.
