I don't think much of Beretta. Had one many years ago and was one of the few I sold. It never felt quite right and usually pricey. Might take a look at this one when I get a chance though. They have a good media spot on fox today.
"Beretta revealed its first full-size striker fired pistol, the Beretta APX, at the IDEX (International Defence Exhibition & Conference) in Abu Dhabi last week." ".. waited to enter the striker fired market until we had a pistol we knew would meet the needs of the operator." "The pistol can withstand a 45,000-round firing schedule with 5,000 rounds between stoppages, according to Beretta." "For those who may need to wear heavy gloves, the trigger guard opening is designed to make that possible. APX also features coarse slide serration making cocking with cumbersome gloves easier." "Triggerless disassembly is one of the advantages of striker-fired pistols and the APX has enhanced safety with the ability to disassemble without pulling the trigger. There is a disconnector pin on the rear right side of the pistol under the breech." Link to the pink |

I'd like to shoot one. The last 2 entries into the polymer-framed, striker-fired market were excellent: the SIG P320 and the HK VP9. I expect no less from Beretta.
I've always been a Beretta fan, I'll admit. I shoot a Beretta 92 very well. Anyone that has taken a carbine or shotgun class from me knows that I usually run one as my secondary. |
