The .gov cannot do anything right, why would anyone trust them to educate them?

That is ridiculous, granted, I would think by then a fourth grader would know better than to bring a toy gun in, but 3 days suspension is stupid.

How stupid can the school get? First its a NERF TOY. Second its about 4 different colors and is to large to be called a gun. Third, if they are going to keep having show and tell, how about sending a note home with the kids of what not to bring, dah!

94 percent of poll respondents said the school was to harsh, to bad the poll didn't ask if the school was just plain stupid, then it would have been 100%!

I am sure glad the liberals and corrupt unions didn't educate me or my children. I did without things I wanted so my children could go to private school after I looked at there school books. Must be why I am buying so many toys now.

I would seriously argue that a nerf gun is in any way a representation of an actual weapon or firearm of any type. It is a toy designed to fling Styrofoam toys. It does not resemble a weapon in any way whatsoever other than the fact that it has a handle to hold it and a trigger mechanism to launch the foam toys. Even murder has exceptions. Zero tolerance is a fucking joke.

Hell, even the dad didn't back him up....

I know this just the way the reporter portrayed it, but it reads that way. ..

McDonald said had he known his child was planning to take the blue, orange and green plastic toy to class, he would've told the child not to take it.

I'm waiting for someone to get in trouble for having a Massachusetts state quarter in a school.

Being from Massachusetts, i'm kind of surprised they A) allowed that design in the first place, because ZOMG SCARY GUN!!!!!!, and B) haven't banned the quarter from being used in the state because it might scare/offend/rape/murder someone.
