I just wanted to say that I'm in Russia, and yesterday I walked out onto the Red Square in Moscow and yelled out, "Wolverines!"

On a more somber note, thankfully my wife and I avoided being a part of the 21 people killed on the subway system yesterday morning around when we were traveling on it!

I'm always a little surprised that the Commies didn't tear down those beautiful buildings in the name of progress.

I'd love to visit. Please post more pics.

Skip Russia. Go to the old Soviet states. The women are just as smoking hot and very "eager" to please foreigners.

Plus your money goes MUCH further!

I miss the old Red Square.  Big parades, lots of hardware on display.  Man we need another cold war.  I generally hate the Daily show, but this with Jason Jones was very funny.

The story behind that is an architect was tasked by Stalin to design a bridge and entry into Red Square and have the Basil Cathedral raised.  The architect barricaded himself in the cathedral in protest, Stalin actually changed his mind on how he wanted the traffic to flow into the square just before troops were about to storm the cathedral, and the architect was actually spared, but exiled.

Once I get the pictures off the camera, I'll get 'em up.

Moscow and St. Petersburg are actually very European and colorful.  The people are nice and the food is great.  From what we saw of the countryside on the train ride back to St. Petersburg from Moscow, its very undeveloped and impoverished looking.

It was an incredible experience to see Moscow and learn more of the history!

ETA:
I'm glad we got the trip in when we did because after the downing of MH17, I don't think I'd like to be traveling in Russia as an American.
