Does anyone have any experience loading .308 subs?  I have searched it pretty hard and I have only found a recipe for 10-11 grains of trail boss behind a heavy bullet.  I could do that, but trail boss isn't available anywhere as far as I can tell.

Does anyone have any loads for .308 subs or know of anywhere that has trail boss?

ETA:  These loads will be going through a Savage Hog Hunter, 20" barrel, 1-10 twist.  I am hoping it will stabilize the 200 grain Lapua subsonic projectiles.

I've got a few subsonic .308 loads that don't use Trail Boss. I'll have to wait until I get on my home computer to look them up.

Here's what my buddy emailed me. He's a retired LEO and works for Surefire, so he shoots a lot of demos with a Surefire can on his bolt action .308. I've shot his loads out of his rifle, with his can. They were very quiet and shot exceptionally well.  He shoots the Lapua factory subsonic 200grn loads very well out of his rifle and it has a Hart 1:10" twist.

125 and 130 grain bullets worked best (most accurate) in my 18 or 20" barreled rifles with the 1/12 twist. Load: either 6 or 7 grains of Red Dot (depending on temperature).

Since I have my Walker rifle with the Hart 20" 1/10 twist barrel, I now load the Sierra 180 grain BTHP with 9 grains of Red Dot, or use the Lapua sniper sub sonic 200 grain FMJBT factory load.

The heavier bullets do better with my 1/10. Same principle I believe on the sub sonics as well as standard velocity rds, AS YOU KNOW. I am not the expert on this by any means and sub sonic shooting and reloading is touchy.

I use magnum primers and open the flash hole to 9/64. I also use filler material (foam from an old rifle case) to avoid a flash over (SEE or secondary explosive effect). Others have used oatmeal or other fillers.  It simply burns up

Here are 2 subsonic loads for 168's

7-8 grains Titegroup 8 should be 1080 fps which is just supersonic
7-8 grains of Clays . 8 is listed at 1060 which should be subsonic
