Its long past time to end School Taxes based on Property Tax and not on how many children parents have! I have no children in school and my neighbor has 6 kids of which 4 they can't really afford. Why am I paying for their decision to have 6 kids when they can only afford two? And besides, public school sucks which is why I did without a boat and other toys I wanted so I could send both of my children to private school. It is no wonder since the Dumbocrats took over education 40 years ago that America has gone from first and second in Math and Science to 48th! Money is not the problem as they always say they only need more money, it is the Unions and layer after layer of stupid paperwork and regulations that teachers have to provide so that the school gets its money from the Feds. The only paperwork teaches should be doing is an attendance roster and grading papers, the rest is a waste of time which only hurts the students in the end. Schooling is a local issue and under the Tenth Amendment the Feds have no business in public schools! All the Feds have been able to do in 40 years is bring all the excellent public schools in certain states down to the poor level of the bad schools in other states. Last time I saw my niece she told me about the 26 African Words she learned for each letter in the Alphabet at school. Yet she can't do something as simple as balance a checkbook. She will never ever use any of those 26 words she learned, but it sure would be nice if she could do simple math! |

I'm not sure if that is serious or not, but either way it is wrong. Atlanta, and Georgia as a whole would be fucked without that place. |

Good thing I'm moving to Milton County, oh... Wait. ... . All "Milton" has to do is wait for one of the small southern counties to collapse and merge with another county to open up a free slot. The State Law of maximum number of counties prohibits North Fulton from becoming 'Milton' because that would be one county over the maximum. I have always thought North Fulton should go shopping to 'entice' two smaller counties to merge so they could break away from Fulton County. Fulton County looks like a gerrymandered voting district anyway. Everything outside of I-285 on both sides should not be in Fulton County. |

They propose 8%, then there's a fight between the retired + people who work for a living against the soccer moms "spare no expense for Johnny's 4th grade Orchestra lessons provided FREE by the school" and do a pretty good job of voting as a block. It gets rejected 2-4 times and ends up at 3% when enough working people miss the vote.. BTW, all that goes to education- the roads never get repaved, just cold patched (if you get anything at all). Oh and by the way, that full 31 mils applies to all your vehicles (current worth times 70%, worth determined by the town) every year FOREVER until you get rid of them. No one-time/opt in clauses. Just closed on a place in Woodstock |
