Well I need to get a 12" miter blade sharpened. The place I found (in Athens) is cheap to get it done, $16, but there is around a 2 week turnaround time. I'm laying laminate floors in my house and I'm trying to get it done, and going two weeks without being able to lay flooring just won't due. I hate having the house half done and crap being misarranged.

Anyone know of any other shops in the NE area that can sharpen blades a tad quicker. I'm trying not to buy another blade because they're around $55-70. Cutting with a dull blade is doable, but it takes forever to cut. I don't mind dropping off on a Monday and picking up on a Friday, but the weekend is where I'm really able to get cracking on the floors.

Just curious what's the name of the place in Athens? We need to find a new place to sharpen our blades.

Wouldn't it b cheaper to buy another then pay to sharpen and factor in turnaround time?

Butler Saw Company in Lawrenceville is where I take anything I need sharpened. I'm not sure on price for that as I have never gotten one sharpened.

When I did it, I got a carbide tipped blade that was designed for laminate. It'll tear up conventional blades. I think you are throwing good money after bad particularly time wise.

Engineered flooring is murder on saw blades. I'm really surprised anyone will sharpen a 60-80 tooth blade for $16.  Local place is .40/tooth.

I think I'd go get one of These, finish the job, and consider the blade disposable. The 32 tooth in this pack might chip/splinter your laminate. Remember to cut good side up.

Rent a laminate shear

Trust me

And laminate wrecks blades.  Buy a cheapie to throw away if you use the saw

if you do this to make money, wouldn't having a second blade make sense?..

I'm doing this in my own house, for myself, by myself (wife tries to help). I got tired of having carpet with a husky and a sheltie, and wood floors look so much better and are quicker and easier to clean.

Their claws will put dents and scratches in it.  My ex had a fox terrier and the oak floor I put down looked like crap after a few years.
