Any arfcommers work at one of the stations in Forsyth county?
I have a cub scout here that needs to earn a "go and see" for a fire station. A tour and talk about what a firefighter does (we can leave frozen pipes out if you want  ) and how he could become a firefighter would help him accomplish this task.
It has now occurred to me I work a boring job no kid would ever find interesting

I could've helped before the new year. One of the guys at my station worked part time at Forsyth, but Forsyth eliminated all part time firefighters due to the mandatory requirements of Obamacare. Even though every one of them was already eligible for healthcare coverage through a primary employer, Forsyth was also required to extend coverage or pay the fine. Cheaper to cut them all and hire a few more full timers.
So, I cannot help you with a scheduled visit. But if you live nearby and are just taking your own kid(s), just show up. There's no problem with dropping by for a quick visit. |

He can tour a fire station and the SO/Jail/911. I would imagine that if called the FD that someone there could and would make it happen for you.

Yeah, I've never met a hosedragger who didn't love to show off his hoses ;-) Few years back at our dojo, one of the mothers knew guys at the local fire station, they won the squirt gun fight :-) |
