For us non-operators, can someone explain the rationale behind the upside down BS? So you can look like Matt Damon and get laid. http://www.today.com/entertainment/fan-mistakes-mark-wahlberg-matt-damon-wahlberg-says-close-enough-6C10883526 |

My guess, if your righthanded and your righthand is disabled and grabbing your gun with your left hand from a righthand holster, that would be the quickest way to get ahold of it. It is actually pretty easy (with a little practice) to draw with your "support" hand and roll the pistol across your chest to a proper grip. Actually can be done pretty quickly too and once you have a proper hold of the pistol you'll be a lot more effective with it than this stupid upside down trick shot garbage. I see zero practical use for shooting upside down with your pinkie.
Trick shot stunt. Might as well practice shooting your AR over your shoulder with a mirror. Mark |

HG was on my left shoulder, but stock on the crook of my right arm. got a nice case of scope (3xmagnifier) eye from it too |

You know, I would never advocate that you make a shot like that.....but I also recognize that combat forces you into some pretty awkward shooting positions.
Looking at it practically, Reaching across the body and obtaining a grip...may not be the most optimal way of retrieving your firearm to fight back effectively, but combat has a tendency to force you into some pretty awkward positions! Practically speaking, you may get off one shot with an auto loading pistol and that may be a all that you have between getting to better shooting postiion or getting killed. I view that as an option of last resort. The realities in combat is that the upside down grip would more than likely lead to a malfunction because of the placement of the palm along the slide plus the instability of the actual grip. An Auto loading pistol needs a firm steady grip in order to cycle normally, Having the pistol inverted does not a stable platform make! The heel stuff...Well I'll let you decide for yourself. |
