I know we had a discussion a while back, and someone suggested a holster that hung down from your belt a little bit, which would clear the waist belt, but not quite make it a thigh rig.

Google: Safariland 6070UBL-2 and see if that would work for you. They make two different drop lengths. Of course you would need a Safariland holster to go with it. For a retention holster I like the Safariland ALS.

The Hill People Gear Kit Bag does this really well.

I have the Runner's version with the extra bungee tie down to keep it tight on your body.

Big enough for a full size 1911.

I looked at their website, and it doesn't look like there is any sort of holster built into it. Did I miss it, or what did you do for that?

I pocket carry when hooking, but have thought about getting the Tactical Tailor lu.ar for my hip belt.

They usually don't put a holster in there. There is discussion around different configs on their board. I carry a G19 in mine and use a MIC holster. Raven Concealment has something similar that HPG sells on their Site. There's an attachment point for the line in the kit bag main compartment for this.
