Hey guys, I know this is a gun board and all. But I was proud of this as it was my first attempt.
I made this from a broken file , scrap aluminum, and an old canvas shirt.
Total investment was about 15.00$
I've gotta get some 600 and 1000 grit to finish shaping the handles then make a sheath.

I drew it down on the handle and the spine, with a torch while keeping the egde cool with a wet rag.
Most folks don't do it this way as they are easier to work in an annealed state. Definitely more time consuming with it hardened.
Made a fancy prison shank

I have heard that annealing is a must because most files are too hard and which makes them brittle.
