Hey Georgia,
I would like some clarification on your concealed handgun laws... Here's my situation: SC resident, soon to be CWP holder, will be driving from SC to FL in OCT and want to me sure I'm legal to pass through with my gun. I know that if I have to stop for anything (gas, food, latrine), I have to leave my gun in the Jeep, but if I don't stop, am I still legal to keep the gun on my hip in the vehicle or do I need to store it in the glove box or in the back? Understand my state is out of touch since we don't have reciprocity with y'all, so I'm sorry. Thanks in advance for your understanding of the law and advice. |

Tell your state senator and state rep that you want reciprocity with GA. As soon as SC allows it, GA will do the same. You might remind them about the 2nd amendment as well. Not much language in there about a training requirement, although I am definitely a proponent of training. I'm not picking on you or at you, but I believe we won't get reciprocity between our states unless there is a grass roots effort in SC. I travel through SC on a monthly basis. I make it a point not to spend money there. I wish you safe travels as well as fun on your trip. |
