Hey Guys and Gals,

I just bought a Whites MXT Metal Dectector after years of wanting one.  Anybody else in Cobb County into this hobby?

Have you found anything cool yet?  I think it would be fun to find some civil war artifacts, but do not have the time to invest in it right now.

I'm not into the hobby but recently tried to use one to find my wedding band that was lost in a field of bermuda grass.  Problem is there are lots of bottle caps that give the same tone as gold  May try to go back if it's possible to exclude the bottle caps from the sensitivity range using the discriminate feature.

Used an older model Bounty Hunter Prospector.

My old roomate got into this. he got old maps of the battlelines at Kennesaw mnt. luckily the battle lines were right where they building some new housing so he snuck back there a few times just see if anything was there.

sure enough he came back with a massive hunk of a detonated artillery shell. Couple of other small trinkets. pretty cool stuff.

also bums me out becasue we basically built & paved over most of these battlegrounds. EXample: 285/120e junction. a massive battle was fought there. can you imagine all the goodies underneath all the pavement?

Ours discriminates pretty well but we have not found anything of value yet.  I know the kennesaw battlefield is off limits for MD or we would go there.  Id like to search lake allatoona when they let the water down.
