I know this comes up for discussion from time to time, but does anyone currently have the insurance coverage offered through HistoricFirearms.com?
Any comments, suggestions, advice? Thanks GA HTF. |

Timely post, I just spoke to them today about a policy. They have a minimum policy of $125 paid once annually which gives you $35,000 of coverage with a $100 deductible per incident not per firearm: fire, theft, damage. No schedule is required but an itemized list needs to be maintained to claim a loss. They emailed some paperwork to me and I will clarify once I have time to read it.
I would be interested in hearing good or bad stories before I get a policy. |

What about people who have more than 35k. Not me, but I know a guy. |
| You can buy extra over $35,000 but that is the minimum policy. I honestly wish I needed to buy more but my collection isn't there yet. Oh, I was also told it covers optics, mags, and accessories. He recommended taking pictures of everything with all the parts attached for claims purposes. PM me your email and I will forward the paperwork he sent over. |

Anybody know the difference between collect insure and hfi? |

I've had the policy for 8 months now.
Vry little contact since then. I got some papers and that's about it. Is it good or bad? I don't know yet.. Edit- I believe you have to do something differently if one item is greater than a certain value. It was high though $10k I think.. |

Anybody know the difference between collect insure and hfi? Based on their online rate card a $35,000 policy would be $188 vs HFI's $125. It does look like you can buy less coverage which would be nice. Couldn't find deductible information or anything of importance on their site. A FAQ page would do them some good. I did find out that you can also insure doll collections with them too. |

I use CollectInsure.com. They seemed to be the best when I was looking last year at this time. They provide you with a blanket amount for replacement coverage on guns, ammo, knives, etc. It protects everything against fire, water, theft, and accidental damage. It even covers you when shipping the gun if it gets lost or stolen. I haven't had any claims, but they are highly recommended on many gun and knife forums.

| I have my insurance through the NRA. You only have to declared weapons in value of over 2000.00 dollars. They are more expensive than the Historic Firearms. If you can get a 35000.00 dollar policy and they are trustworthy that is a killer deal for 125.00 dollars. |
| Just got off the phone with Collect Insure and their policy seems to be better (for my needs) than HFI. They don't require a $35,000 policy so mine collection will be covered for $105 vs. the $125 at HSI...depends on your collections value. There is no deductible but your claim has to total $50 or more. It covers fire, theft, damage, travel, etc. It also covers accessories, ammo, optics, mags. You are required to keep one of three files to submit a claim: spreadsheet of your items, pictures, or original receipt. They are emailing me an application and I will update this thread if there is anything I missed. |
