Nice read. The willfull ignorance of the anti crowd about a topic they feel so strongly about is frightening. How many think we're talking about fully automatic machine guns?

I'd be more likely to believe him if Americans bothered to do anything in 1934, 1968, 1986, 1991 or 1994.  From what I have seen most Americans will just appease the government with any gun legislation it passes.  Interesting article though.

I would tend to agree but it seems a real hornets nest is being stirred up this go round. A LOT of Fudds have allowed past legislation to just sail on through as long as Fudd guns were left out but this seems different from 1994 on several levels. I thought his OP-ED was very insightful and is nothing I have not expressed or thought, and like him I do not welcome a hot war between sides.
